I can’t believe it! We are building a school in Osentio, Kenya! The Enlightened Mom has joined forces with Cynthia Kersey’s Unstoppable Foundation and we are building a school in the very impoverished Maasai Mara region of Africa.
It all began with our global tele-summit, Moms: Healing Ourselves, Healing Our World. Our Enlightened Mom team was very grounded in its mission that we wanted to gather moms from around the world to take a stand for healing. We truly believe that mommas have the power to shift the planet as we make a decision to heal. We are the grounding cords for our families. The summit grew from that seed.
THEN, Mary Kay Morgan, my right arm and marketing guru mom, asked, “What do you think about finding a non-profit to go with this summit?” Well, Charlie (my hubby) and I jumped at the thought. We both have a deep desire to give back to the world and had thought about doing something like this for a very long time. And we knew we wanted to help children. That’s when Cynthia Kersey and her Unstoppable Foundation stepped in.
Cynthia’s team is on a mission to build schools all throughout the Maasai Mara area of Africa. In this region of Kenya, the children are more or less forgotten by the government. But they are not forgotten anymore!
Cynthia’s team, in conjunction with Free the Children, not only builds the school, but they also provide a clean water system and sanitation. Plus, they mentor women to start their own businesses so that they might provide for their families, and they provide health care and/or education services to improve the health of the community. Wow! Charlie and I knew that partnering with the Unstoppable Foundation was the right choice for The Enlightened Mom Global Community.
Our mission is to raise $25,000 by January 31, 2011, and then have the school built by July 1, 2011. And we need your help! You can make a difference in the lives of a whole village! Here are the two ways to do it starting today:
1. Join us in our global tele-summit, Moms: Healing Ourselves, Healing Our World. I’m interviewing 15 Moms of Influence who have not only healed their lives, but are helping the world heal. You will be enlightened and entertained by these powerful conversations! The summit is free.
